Beautiful Weather!

They both are really liking Carter's bday present from Auntie Erica - the Tag reading stuff. Even Teague likes it! How cute do they look being all scholarly?
Teague always tries to steal Grandma's coffee when he sees it. He likes the whipped cream on top. Who doesn't? Anyway, he got a bit spoiled the other day with his own bowl with a little whipped cream in it. He looks awfully happy about it!
Really happy about it!
It was absolutely gorgeous here this weekend! 65 on Saturday and 72 yesterday. They said 80 here today! We went to Clark's park to play and run. Carter, as usual, gave Teague some pushes on the swings. They're buds.
Avery was looking pretty sporty on Saturday in her basketball shirt and shorts. She refused to let me brush her hair though. Some days she just likes it "crazy".
We went over to a big open space to play some kickball. Landon brought a little red ball (Carter was super impressed by my kicking ability). Teague took a timeout for a juicebox. He's addicted to them!
These two played some dodgeball with Erica before lunch. They are the winners!
Afterwards we spoiled them with some McDonalds lunch, and they had a picnic out on Erica's porch. It was a perfect day for it!
We had a wedding to attend on Saturday - Chris and Carisa Berger. Chris is Kyle's best friend/fellow cop, and he was in the wedding. We had way too much fun at their reception!
Three three are all policeman - Jarrett Branson, Tim Berger, and Kyle. You can tell Kyle had fun...he was down to the vest (he doesn't do well with heat!).
Sunday was probably Teague's best day ever. He got to wear awesome shorts, take a walk, ride his buggy, and pretty much be outside All Day!
Apparently Ave was pretty happy that Grandma made biscuits! She's such a goofball. She looked awfully cute in her summer clothes. You can't really tell but her shirt has a sparkly goat and says "Capricorn" underneath it. I've always been a sucker for zodiac stuff (and me and my Boo Bear are the same sign).
I got my little helpers some new garden gloves. They helped me do some gladiola bulbs yesterday (that should guarantee snow soon, sorry everyone). Our old ones didn't come in very well last year. They helped weed a little too.
My brother put Teague's buggy together yesterday. Grandma and Grandpa Barsness got that for him for his birthday. He loved it! He really thinks he's driving!
Lastly, you know it's spring/summer when the barbecue comes out. It was Aunt Terri's Earthday/Birthday and Dad made some delicious salmon (her favorite) and BBQ chicken! Yum!

Carter is 5!

Well it's typical Butte spring time. One day the kids are out playing with no coats...and right now I can see snow flakes drifting past my window. In this picture Ave was being Captain Cranky and the boys had to bring her some gold. The Backyardigans had a lot to do with this game I think! What a face!
He looks so little, especially in his big boy clothes. Those pants were killing me! He loves to be outside. He runs to the door just to see if he can sneak out!
Carterman turned 5 on Wednesday! It's so hard to believe it's been that long. I just love my sweet boy. He opened a few presents on his actual birthday - his awesome dinosaur stuff from Auntie Kelsie, a new Transformer from Ave and Teague, and this Imaginext Stegosaurus from Grandma and Poppa. He loved everything!
On Friday I took the kids to Father Sheehan park for a bit after work. The brothers look so cute riding the T-Rex together.
Teague was having a great time on the swings.
Ave must have been running around out of camera range. She was there! Here's the best big brother giving his buddy a push.
He really wanted to climb up this tunnel!
Grandma and Grandpa Barsness came in for the party and brought Colten with them. Colt is the best with little kids. Carter and Landon think he is the coolest kid ever! Here's a bunch of boys enjoying a dinner at the MT Club (as usual, Carter was dying for some mac and cheese).
Party time! Carter asked if he could have his party at the Jumparoo this year. It worked out great. Everyone had a really fun time. This is Landon and one of the daycare friends, Tanner.
More guests: Connor, Landon, and Austin (with Madisyn and Mason at the very top).
Ave loves Jordan's friend Jessica. Here she is getting her leg. That's Reece coming down behind her. She had never been there before, and she had a blast!
There's my silly birthday boy. He was loving every minute of the party!
Teagie the bouncing boy had a fabulous time. He was a little overwhelmed by all the people, but he was right in the middle of everything as usual!
Liam is the best baby. He was so good the whole time. He loved seeing Avery. Everytime she talked to him, he would kick his legs and smile! He liked bouncing with Aunt Nancy too.
Jordan and Jessica were great about taking the babies down the slides. I'll have to call Jamie this morning and see how much Liam weighed at his six month checkup. He looks so tiny, but he's pretty solid! I just noticed Carter coming down backwards on his face behind them. He's a goofball.
Daddy is just a big kid at heart. He always has fun at the jumparoo!
Poor Ave threw up once when we got there. She seemed fine as soon as we got home though. She kept telling us her belly was too full all day. I guess she was right.
Cake time! His buddy Sam and his sister Siri were so good at the party. They are nice kids.
Carter's cake was supposed to be Dinosaur Train. However, Albertson's called at 10am to tell me their printer for the edible images was broken. Luckily we improvised. They made us some cool volcanoes and a river, and we put some dinosaurs on! It worked. Then they put "Happy 8th Birthday Carter". Wow. Luckily, Callie turned it into a 5 with the help of a juice box straw!
Present time! Carter is the best about opening presents. He loves everything he gets.
Tanner told his mom Brandy that they needed to put a blue balloon on the present. It has been Teague's favorite thing for the last couple days. He loves it!
Auntie Erica and Landon got Carter the Tag reading system with some books and animal fact cards. The animal fact cards are awesome. Carter loves to be a little animal expert!
Little Ave was being shy and quiet. She didn't even want cake!
All the kids were so good. Carter is lucky to have such great family and friends.
It was so nice to see Callie. I'm glad we're going to see her again soon for Abb and Jord's dance recital. The kids had fun showing her every single thing in their rooms!
Probably my favorite picture of the day! Sam's card had this "I'm 5" sticker in it. He looked great! Thank you so much to everyone who made his day so wonderful. He thinks it was probably the best birthday ever. We appreciate all the help and company.
Teague "The Shark" really enjoyed dinner that night. The boy is a bottomless pit! He stole Carter and Ave's food - noodles, peas, and rice all mixed together. Yum!

Easter fun!

Poppa set up a super bubbly bath for the kids. Teague had an excellent beard going! Ave looks like maybe Carter splashed her or something!
Kyle forgot to pack Teague's coat, so we had to use this Halloween sweathshirt that was 4 sizes too big. He looked like a little gangster!
Carter's new favorite thing is to have Poppa pitch to him. He did hit a couple out into the street. I probably should have signed him up for teeball this year, but I'm lazy. I want one more summer of nothing scheduled!
We got some new carpet on Monday last week. They put it in the front room and all the way down the hall. We're trying to pick out some new flooring for the kitchen and dining room too. Anyway, the carpet is great! We love it. Ave was making some lovely carpet angels here!
Poppa was getting his Easter eggs for school ready. He always has a scavenger hunt for extra credit on the short prom day where most of the school is empty. These three were big helps as always!
Teague, with his chocolate mouth, wasn't too sure about these bunny ears (Dad makes the kids wear them around the school while they are egg hunting!).
Carterman looked so cute in this shirt from Mom. I had to get a picture! I love how it says "snack time" by the T-Rex's mouth.
Teague loves to sit on the step and bounce and bounce! It was a perfect time to try to get a picture of all three of my little monkeys. Ave is always trying to kiss him! Carter too - they just love their little brother.
Success! They're pretty cute.
Teague has been playing a lot with his zoo lately. Carter helps him put different animals on the swing. They both love the animals noises.
Time to dye eggs! They had lots of fun this year. Last year Carter was not so into it. This time they all had a blast! Ave kept calling her eggs "sweetie". Come here sweetie - are you done yet?
More egg dying people - Teague really wanted to get in on the action.
Lando in his red shirt, with a red cup full of red dye. Imagine that!
Teague was getting a little cranky. Luckily he and Poppa decided to take a quick nap together. It made things run much smoother!
I wish I could have Ave's full outfit in the picture. She was using the smallest spoon ever to stir the macaroni salad (which she cut olives for). I ordered her some summer stuff from Old Navy which she had to wear. The black and white swimsuit, zebra tank top, and blue jellys looked great with some red and white tights and a black skirt!
Easter morning! This guy was the first one up. He had to read his new book right away!
His shake and go Green Lantern car was a big hit too. He kept making silly faces whenever it would "talk"! He kept pointing at the other baskets like, "Do I get to dig into those too?".
Carter walked around the corner and dropped blue guy when he saw his stuff! He was super excited for his new police robot Imaginext toys.
Ave loved hers too. She had some new princesses to dress (kind of like Polly pockets). She and Grandma ended up playing with them for quite awhile.
Time to head over to Grandma and Poppa's house. As you can see, they got a bit spoiled. Grandma and Grandpa Barsness had baskets for them too. They are lucky kids!
Every blog post, there is one of these pictures...Teague trying to take the camera from me!
He did pretty good with his little bat. He kept slamming the little red stars instead of hitting the ball, but he was enjoying himself!
Time to hunt for eggs! That silly Poppa hid them early in the morning before we got there. The kids had a ton of fun finding them.
She looked pretty gorgeous if I do say so myself!
My handsome Carter had a little bug bite on his head! I didn't see any bugs though...it's a mystery.
Teagie took the egg hunting quite seriously. It could be that he was exhausted. He had gotten sick the night before. Apparently there is such a thing as Teague eating too much!
Look what we found!
I have no idea how Ave's dress stayed clean. It was quite muddy under that snow. Carter, Landon, Jordan, Abbey, and the two Kyle's had a little snowball fight. Pretty soon there was no snow in the yard at all!
Carter was a good egg hunter. Poor Jord ended up at the ER the night before with influenza. We had already been around her all week so there wasn't much we could do (so far so good). That is why Nicole, Jamie, Nancy, Frank, and the kids didn't make it over. You don't want that to spread. Hopefully everyone had a great Easter though.
A much needed nap for my little tiny man - aunt Terri hung out with him while everyone was outside. Thanks Terr.
Jord felt pretty good until she got tired later. This is a cute picture!
Police robot time! These three played a pretty fun game together.
Last but not least, a family picture. These are rare...and this one turned out pretty good. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

July - August 2019

My friend Michelle was in town from Las Vegas. Her brother and sister-in-law always have a fun barbecue for everyone here in town. Dana, Jas...
