Sunshine, Sickness, and Easter

It was absolutely beautiful here this week! I'm sure it will still snow again, but we enjoyed ourselves this week. We bought new chalk so Ave could draw some fabulous Easter Eggs.
Poppa was teaching Carter how to T-throw. He and Landon were pitching and hitting outside. They are both pretty good! Lando pays a lot more attention than Carter, but that's typical!
We played some hopscotch too. I was going to take a picture of them on their favorite number, but only Carter sat still. He liked 20 since it was the biggest!
Carter made a super cute Easter book at school. He read it to a captive audience that night.
Time to get out the bikes. These two are so much faster than last year. I bet Landon has his training wheels off soon.
We went for a walk and fed the ducks on the trail. I love this picture, these two are so cute.
Teague is going to be a booger this summer. He thinks he's big, he doesn't need help, and he's too cute to say no to!
She's a little speed demon.
We're going to have a lot of bike pictures in the future, I can tell.
Teague was "helping" Poppa in the kitchen. Luckily Jordan managed to distract him for a moment. They both look good in this one!
He was trying to get his eggs ready for his Easter Egg/Extra Credit Hunt. Teague just wanted to sit on him and steal all the chocolate.
He likes to mix his superheroes, I'm not sure what to name this combination of Spiderman, Buzz Lightyear, and Thor!
He carries around this toy pitchfork and calls it a carousel fork. I don't know how his little mind works, but he sure is funny.
Ave made a quick stop by daycare for her Easter Egg Hunt, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Carter and Landon got to watch since it is Spring Break for them. Teague just laid on me and was quite somber. The poor kid was on his way to really not feeling good.
Time to dye some Easter Eggs. I'm not sure what this pose is, but we all had fun as usual. They get more creative every year.
Ave drew a face on this one herself with the help of Grandma and her scrapbooking markers. She and Grandma were the last ones at the table. They are perfectionists.
Me and my Teagie Pie. He had a fever. He still wanted to help of course, but he just wasn't himself.
Easter day! The kids got capes with their initial on them and a superhero emblem. Also, we skipped a day where a lot of stuff happened. The kids went to the doctor and had: Carter - double ear infection, Ave - ear and sinus infection, and Teague - ear and sinus infection. Then Teague decided to get croup again. He and Ave ended up staying with me while Kyle and Carter made a trip to Cody, Wyoming. Sadly, Kyle's Grandpa Barsness passed away earlier this week. I felt terrible about not going, but Teague was too miserable. We will visit this summer Clarabelle. Hope you are doing okay.
Uncle Kyle photobombed this one!
This is out of order. This is their spread at home. The Easter Bunny is good to them, then Grandma and Grandpa Burgman spoil them even more!
I love this picture. I wanted one happy boy picture so Auntie Erica was about to tickle him. It's just one of those accidentally perfect ones!
These two were buddies the last couple days. We had an Egg Hunt almost every day, they are excellent seekers.
He really enjoyed his bubble wand. He used it more as a sword and splashed Nancy and Frank a lot, but he had fun. He also took two naps. Poor guy is not quite back yet. I do have to tell you some of his ramblings from when he was up at 3 o'clock in the morning the last two nights. Here are some gems: "You like dog poop? I like dog poop." "I'm going to put Numma, Poppa, Auntie Terri, and Uncle Kyle on a bookshelf so they can READ!" "You like Hagrid? He has black pants. Harry Potter has brown pants." "I dug a mountain." "I steal all your triangles. I'm the SHAPE BANDIT! (Thanks Team Umizumi on Nick Jr.). He's insane!
This girl is a monkey. She is always in the tree now. Luckily she is pretty coordinated.
Abb and Jord always look good. They are about 100% more fashionable than me.
Poppa the troublemaker (of course) got the squirtguns out. He also wore a sweater vest to match Landon and Teague.
She decided to wear her chicken Easter basket on her head. She has been in a great mood (knock on wood) and super sweet to her baby brother.
It had to be 60 degrees outside today! They even ate lunch outside.
Liam and Jamie stopped by too. He is so cute. He had a ton of fun outside, but was a bit wary of me trying to get a picture of him!
I missed this boy! I heard he was great down in Wyoming, and I'm proud of him for not wanting his Dad to go by himself. I hope he stays lovey for a long time. Happy Easter everyone!

A funny video

Teague seems to get his second wind at about 10 o'clock every night. The other two were passed out, and he decided to take out a bunch of Carter's cars and trucks and play. He was making me laugh. I like how he says "crash" and how he calls the Batmobile the "Batmanbile". He never stops talking, but I love it! He's one smart barely 2 year old.

Pretty quiet stuff

We had a pretty quiet week, but that was kind of nice. Mom's coworkers got her a delicious turtle cake from the Uptown Cafe for her birthday. Teague had a delightful time destroying it!
Carter looked totally cool in these headphones. I think he was trying to plug them into a tape measure, but whatever!
Carter had his first teeth cleaning last Tuesday. He's had the dentist look at his teeth many times, but this was the first cleaning. He did great. No cavities! He also made it back to school just in time for recess - how perfect!
Ave just had a quick exam and tooth counting. She told me she felt like she was on a beach in these glasses. She was a very good girl, not so shy thank goodness!
Avery decided to race around the house. She picked this outfit out just for the occasion. She generally changes about 4 times a day on the days she doesn't go to preschool. This one is quite a look!
We had some cold playing time outside. Kids don't seem to feel it the way adults do - they would stay out all day if they could. Teague did happily let Poppa make him some hot cocoa.
Ave and Carter took a long walk with me, from Auntie Erica's house all the way to Poppa's. I was impressed. It was quite a walk. When we got back, I wanted a picture of their rosy cheeks...instead I got this!
And one smiling one! I do have to share a few Averyisms from the walk. She kept picking up rocks while we were walking, and I asked her "Why?". She told me she was going to make jewelry, and I just shook my head. Then she said, "I can't help it Mom, 60% cash back". What? I just laugh at her. She also told me as we were walking through some weeds, "Mom, I watched a show about weeds. It has about a 60% survival.". I'm not sure where the 60% stuff came from! Carter just talks non-stop about the Marvel SuperHero Squad.
Terri bid on some dance clothes at the Dynamic Dance brewfest, and she won! Unfortunately, the clothes were this size. Miss Boo was loving this green outfit.
She made a "model snowman" outside. It was awfully cute!
Oops. A little out of order here. She told me she dances better if her eyes are closed.
Jordan hung out with us on Sunday. She is the best helper. Here she is making sure Teague can see from under his zebra hat.
Action photo. Landon and Auntie had a long game of frisbee. Lando is very good at catching and throwing it.
I was chasing Carter around trying to get a picture of him. Finally! His hair was pretty awesome all day. He's not really a big fan of getting it brushed.
Lastly, a cool guy on his "motorcycle" with his "carousel fork". This is what he called these things. My kids have some good imaginations. That's for sure!

Fun visit and St. Patrick's Day

I just like this picture. It is a huge smile with a little Bonanza Freeze ice cream still on her lip and some Mulan buns in her hair. She's awfully cute!
Aunt Diane and Uncle Art came for an overnight visit with Josh and Luke. Our kids don't see them very often, and they had a blast! We tried to have some fun at C Street Park, but it was soggy and full of goose poop. How's that for appealing? They still had fun though!
This one is out of order, but it kills me. He wanted a ponytail like his sister. This lasted about 15 minutes!
Watch out for the goose poop! Carter brought a sword with him of course.
We had a really fun dinner at Silver Bow with Nancy, Frank, Nicole, Connor, Austin, Terr, Abb, and Jord joining us. As you can see, they crammed together quite nicely in the race car.
Now Josh, Luke, and Carter's turn.
Some carousel pictures. These two always lean out for high fives.
Carousel pictures are tough - too many lights, mirrors, and poles to obstruct faces!
Earlier in the day, they nicely built some Lego stuff. They were funny together.
Now for Luke and Teague. They were making monster faces I believe.
Now for Luke and Avery (who are two weeks apart in age).
This is such a cute picture. Aunt Diane, Teague and his monster face, and Grandma. He loves them.
The next day we went swimming at the Y after Carter and Lando were done with school. I wanted to take some pictures, but it was a bit crazy with me and Diane watching 6 kids in the water! So here is a blue eyed boy getting ready to get dressed.
We had to get one of all 6 together. This was the first and only one I took. It was perfect! They had so much fun together. We'll have to do it again soon!
On Saturday, we went to the mall to see the Edmonton Bagpipers. It was really good. We let the kids sneak up to get a better look. Landon and Avery listenened and clapped politely. Carter attempted to breakdance.
Teague slept through the whole thing. My back started hurting with him after a half an hour so Poppa took over.
There they are. There was quite a crowd in the mall to watch this year!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! It was Mom's 55th birthday! We went uptown, where it was freezing, and sat at the KC for awhile. It was lots of fun!
Dad made green chocolate chip pancakes and green eggs and ham. Yum!
We attempted to watch the parade, but the Arctic chill in the wind got to most of us. Terri, Nancy, Erica, the two Kyles, and I went and secured an awesome table at the KC. We were off to the side of the food, and it was perfect.
The two Kyles trying to look serious. My brother looks like he's going for a Zoolander face.
Erica and I in our St. Patrick's Day finery. Mom has so much stuff to choose from thank goodness.
Nancy and Frank - Nancy's hat was a favorite. She didn't appreciate how tan Frank looked in this picture.
Wearing Grandpa Winks' old hat, Mom's "Elton John" glasses, and Nancy's feather boa. It's quite a look.
The KC is always so packed. It was warm, and we saw lots of friends. A good time was had by all. A special "thank you" goes out to Abb and Jord for watching the kids. You guys are the best!
We came home to have delicious corned beef and get entertained by Teagie. He tells a fine story!
Happy Birthday Mom! Terri found her a very festive and tasty cake!
Lastly, a typical Monday at my house. Lunch time with Teague and Ave at the picnic table. They are so good (usually)!

July - August 2019

My friend Michelle was in town from Las Vegas. Her brother and sister-in-law always have a fun barbecue for everyone here in town. Dana, Jas...
