Getting better all the time

Here's my little girl grabbing my face and smiling. She's starting to kind of understand what she can do with her hands. She holds rattles and grabs at the toys on her bouncer now.

Carterman was telling her about IPods before bed one night. He kept showing her the screen and saying "This Ipod Avery".
This is Carter's new mad thing. He wraps his arms across his chest. He was angry because Dad wouldn't let him hold the marker while he was correcting papers. What a meanie! I like this much better than throwing a fit!
Avery likes Scrabble and her buddy Abbey. We played a lovely game on Saturday night, and a game of Clue on Sunday. It was a board game kind of weekend I guess.
Carter is a goofball and so is his Dad. Kyle decided to make a basket with Carter as the ball. He thought it was quite funny that he was in the hoop!
Carter told me he wanted to hold Avery. Then once she was laying on him he was done. I think he looks like he's thinking "Why did I want to do this again?".
We were playing peek-a-boo, and my little cutie was laughing out loud!
Carter went around the room asking if anyone wanted any Mylicon. "You want some?".
Just a cute picture of Kyle and our little man. I still think they look a lot alike.
A kind of blurry picture of me and my boy sharing some ice cream cake. He liked the little chocolate sprinkles or as he called them "Crunchies".
Erica and Landon also enjoyed some ice cream cake. Both our boys make some silly "cheese" faces!
Here's the Ice Cream cake before it was hacked into. Terri had a lovely Earthday Birthday!
Another trip to the park. The boys would like to go there every single day if they could.
Landon is a big fan of the swings. He was showing us how he could put his belly on there. He said, "Mia, wookit this!" which always makes me laugh!
Avery quite enjoyed her trip to the park. Last time it was a little windy for her. She had a nice time on the swings with her pal Jocko.
Avery was laughing and drooling all over me everytime I held her up in the air. Sometimes she really likes that because she stares at herself in the mirror. So vain ha ha!
This picture is cute because she's really listening to him. He was telling her that she had to buckle up for the ride home. I like how he's holding her leg too. He's a good brother.
Carter had some awesome hair the other day. They put sunscreen on his head at daycare and it was like styling gel. He looked good...his shirt had little dinosaurs all over it and said "DYNO-MYTE".
My little baby was passed out! I think Jordan bounced her to sleep on the exercise ball. That thing has come in handy, not for exercising of course!
This is one of Aver's favorite things to do - stick both hands in her mouth. If she could fit all ten fingers in there she would be thrilled!

The Norm

We had a pretty quiet week around here, which was lovely. Carter was being hilarious with Avery a couple nights ago. I was changing her into pajamas, but he decided she needed to wear her shoes. He was so funny telling her how she needs shoes.

I love how she's looking at him - like there's my brother; I have no idea what he's doing to me.
We had some surprise visitors yesterday. Dana, Jason, Jada, and Madelyn stopped by. They brought Carter and Landon fishing poles! They are the cutest little girls - look at that hair!
Jada was really tired when they first got there, but she was quite funny later on. She got to hold Avery for a minute before Aver's passed out.
Here's some tummy time from earlier that morning. She actually doesn't mind it, and she's pretty strong as you can see.
We took a trip to the mall on Saturday. Erica and Jordan stayed by the play thing with the boys while Abb, Avery, and I looked around. Then we switched. They look like they're having a good time!
Avery had a lovely time too. She fell asleep in Herberger's shortly after this picture.
Carter decided to wear Mr. Tato Head's teeth on Saturday morning. They look even cooler upside down!
Grandma got Avery a new rattle at Walmart the other day. She really likes it! She holds it very well too.
The boys were being so funny in Erica's car after we went to visit Grandma Vivian. They kept telling us that they wanted to go to the mall.
The boys really like to explore at Grandma "Bibian's" house. Carter was giving her a backscratcher - what a helpful guy.
Here's Lando man being silly in the car. He had some rosy cheeks that night!
More fun at Grandma's house. Landon was riding her cane like a horse, and Carter was playing with all the buttons on her phone. They definitely keep her entertained!
We went to the park on Friday. It was a nice day. Hopefully we'll have more of those this week. Carter said a lovely "cheese" for Erica. He's so goofy.
Avery got to go on the swings too. She enjoyed her first outing to the park. She really likes being outside. Jordan looks very summery here.
Here's a big Avery smile while she was chilling with Abb at the park. She is a good little girl.
Erica and Landon had a good time swinging too. He also went down the slide and played on the rock wall. Carter just wanted to run.
We had a large pile of bubble wrap last week. The boys had so much fun playing with it. Landon was hilarious - he looked like a stuntman jumping and rolling all over. Carter liked to swing it at Landon.
They were just crazy as you can see!
We went swimming again last week. They are starting to get pretty comfortable in the water. They both wore Cars swim trunks this time. This is obviously not the best picture, but Lando looked good.
Carter also looked lovely in his rolled up swim trunks. They look so cute.
After they got dressed, they enjoyed some Nemo fruit snacks. Carter wanted to eat his in the shower. He's my little weirdo.
Jordan was so happy when she could hold Avery again. She was a little weak at first after her appendectomy. Those eyes could not open any bigger!
Avery tried out the Bumbo chair! Abbey put her in it, and she seemed to like it. She didn't complain anyway!
Carter nicely told Avery that it was his chair. He tried to help her out of there also. He's willing to share with her, but only for a couple minutes.
Then Carter sat in his chair. He looks so little when he's naked. We weighed him this week though - he's up to 24 pounds.

Huge Post - Easter and Birthday

Avery got to chill with Poppa outside for a little while since I was playing with the boys. She liked it. What little kid doesn't?

Carter was playing with Poppa's beard (which I trimmed last night - it was out of control), and I told him to be nice. He looked at me and said, "I like it!".
Carter and Uncle Kyle were playing outside on the slides. Carter thought it was funny how fast Kyle could spin the wheel. He's a fun uncle!

Kelsie told me last week that Joe pointed out that I wrote about Avery's first dress and didn't show a picture of it. I'm so ashamed. Anyway, here is the dress...there's more dresses to come!

We went for a walk on the trail last week. Carter was in heaven. He was wearing two jackets and got to walk Laney!

Laney gave Carter some birthday loves on Saturday morning. I know she can be annoying, but she loves Carter and Avery so much. I like when Carter calls her "My Yaney".
This is just a silly baby about to get out of her car seat. She's been "talking" so much lately!

This is Carter's Easter stuff from daycare. They do a lot of cute stuff there. I love his beautiful orange egg.

Here's the birthday boy having some pizza. I can't believe my little man is 2! He probably should have had a haircut, oh well - he's still cute.

I feel bad I didn't get a picture of Connor, but here are some other birthday guests: Nicole and Austin (such a cute smile) on the carousel. Nicole is always thrilled when I take pictures of her.

Here's his lovely cake. It was a CARS kind of party. He thought his cake was really cool. He kept trying to eat the frosting off the top of it.

This race car was not working, so the boys just sat in it and pretended to drive. This works out well for Landon. He likes the rides until they turn on!

This is Geah and Eric's little girl Reese. She is too cute. She was laughing and walking all over the place. She will turn 1 in about two weeks.

Uncle Kyle and Abbey took Carterman on the carousel. Carter is lucky to have such nice uncles and cousins!

This is a nice shot of his new shirt that I found on the Internet. It's hard to find "Incredibles" stuff. He loved it. It was huge on him but so cute. It says "Dash vs. Syndrome". Dash is his favorite because he's so fast.

More party guests: Aunt Nancy and Miquella. We really appreciate everyone coming!

This is the only shot I have of him opening presents. He did not want to sit still long enough for that. He played with everything later though! He did immediately put on his Lightning McQueen sandals from Erica and Landon however. He thought those were awesome.

Landon was in the best mood at the party. He was just killing me. Nicole, Austin, and Connor got Carter a remote controlled Lightning McQueen. When we opened it, I said "Oh my goodness Carter" which Lando kept repeating over and over again...so funny.

Carter loves when people sing together. He was watching everyone while they sang "Happy Birthday" to him. He clapped when they were done too.

This is Uncle Kyle's fault. Carter said his hands were sticky. Kyle told him to rub the frosting off on his face. He looked lovely!

Just a random shot of Erica and Lando enjoying some cake. It was pretty tasty.

Erica got this cute picture of my little man riding the train. I'm glad he had fun at his party.

Here is a fantastic shot of Avery's rufflybutt tights, as I like to call them. They are long in the legs, but that's okay.
She was quite charming at the party - she was laughing at Abbey here. I wanted a shot of her in this beautiful ladybug dress from Aunt Diane. I'm so glad it was nice enough to wear it. She had some really cute shoes from Mom too. They helped with the long tights!

I like her little hands in the picture. She's a good girl. You'll notice poor Jordan did not make it to the party. She was very sick on Saturday and ended up getting her appendix taken out on Sunday. We missed her, but we're glad she's feeling better! She went home from the hospital Monday night.

Grandma and Grandpa Barsness came in Thursday night for the birthday. Carter and Avery were really funny and charming with them. It's always nice when they can come to visit. Avery was saying goodbye after the party.

This little man couldn't say a goodbye because he fell asleep about a minute after he was in his carseat on the way home from the Pizza Parlor. It was a big day!
When he woke up, it was play time! Here's Daddy helping him set up his tractor-tipping set. It has a Frank/the combine who Carter loves.
This is his awesome kitchen from Grandma and Grandpa Barsness. He has been hilarious with it. He makes us scrambled eggs, coffee, and grilled cheese triangles. He always says, "You want some more?". He told us he was ordering pizza on his phone too!

Here's Avery's 1st Easter basket. She had some clothes, a rattle, a sippy cup, and some delicious bananas and sweet potatoes. A couple more weeks and she can eat some food! She'll be thrilled.

Carter had lots of candy, an outfit, some new dishes, and an Iron Giant. He thought the Iron Giant was really cool. He made it sit like it does in the movie!

We went over to Mom and Dad's afterwards. Avery got a cute Elmo doll in her pink chicken basket - it played the "Chicken Dance". She will love it.

Carter and Landon got the coolest bikes ever! They were so excited. There are lights, pictures from the movie, horns, music, a moving speedometer, and a storage thing on the back. They played with them all day long! Also Carter got to wear his new jacket from Grandma and Grandpa Barsness. They know how he likes jackets!

Abbey Jean got Avery dressed while I helped with the potato salad. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her poofy Easter dress that Grandma Burgman got for her.

I think she knew that she looked beautiful. I love the arms. She's starting to play with her bouncer now. She hits the toys that hang down.

Abbey and Avery did the Easter egg hunt together. Abbey was a big help this weekend. She stayed with us on Sunday night. Carter was really happy that AbbeyJean (he says it all together now) was in our living room when he woke up!

Carter looked handsome in this yellow shirt. He found a ton of Easter eggs - they filled up his whole puppy basket. They were plastic and filled with money or candy. He wanted the money in his pockets. I'm glad it was a decent day. It snowed four inches last night!

Lando was lookin' good too. He was playing with the Cars that you can shake and then they'll drive on their own. They say things too. Our favorite is when Ramone says "Hey, show some respect homes!". It was a lovely week. Thanks again everyone!
