Cody Trip/Yellowstone

We took a trip down to Cody, Wyoming, to celebrate Kyle's Great Grandma Clarabelle's life. She was such a fun lady. I wish we could have seen more of her. We need to plan our summers better to be with family more. Anyway, we met up with all the Barsness's in Billings. We ended up at a different hotel, but Teague and Ave enjoyed the pool.
It had a decent water slide. I'm not sure what it is about a hotel pool, but I always loved them when I was young too.
We did a little shopping at the mall before we started the trip to Wyoming. Avery decided out of nowhere that she wanted her ears pierced!
She got some garnets (her birthstone) to start. They look lovely, and she has taken very good care of them.
We met up with the other Barsness's at the airport to greet Uncle Kevin when he came in. Not sure what kind of crazy face Kayden is making here!
All the Barsness family got together for a nice picture. Clarabelle's memorial service was really nice. It was heartfelt and included a lot of funny stories. I think she would have loved it.
All dressed up. This is a pretty rare occasion!
Cousins and kiddos. This is a great picture! We have Angela, Amy, Kyle, Kevin, Chris, Wade, West, and Whitney - plus all the kiddos: Evelyn, Carter, Teague, Ave, Bre, Colt, Kaden, Emery, London, Paxton, Landon, Liam, and Tyler.
These guys are just goofy. They always have a blast when they are together!
Kyle found his happy place! Cody had a really fun little candy store. It's a very pretty town.
These guys liked it too!
So cute! I love how well they all get along.
Aww, Teague and Grandpa. Teague is just a lovey guy. He loves to hold hands.
There's nothing better than a hotel pool!
We had a really delicious breakfast before we left town. I think Kyle and the kids ate all the monkey bread this restaurant had.
I'm not sure what they were watching, but they were enjoying it.
This is such a cute picture. Aly is the sweetest person, and she absolutely adores kids. She takes a real interest in their busy lives.
Bye Uncle Kevin! He's so fun with his nieces and nephews. They always have some good laughs when he's around.
We decided to come back to Butte through Yellowstone. Cody has an entrance. First we had to go through the Buffalo Bill Cody tunnel. It was pretty cool!
It was quite a long tunnel too! It was neat to see. I have never driven that way before.
The ride to Yellowstone had tons of little spiky formations everywhere. We decided the mountains looked like they had teeth.
We made it! I haven't been here since I was pregnant with Teague. I'm glad we went back!
There were so many pretty little waterfalls running right next to the road. I couldn't get a great picture, but it's okay!
We stopped by the lake just to stretch our legs. As you can tell, it was kind of a gloomy day. It had rained off and on during the trip. We enjoyed it though. Not a lot of people stopped all over the road! I love this picture. Look at Carter's "skipping rocks" form. He's pretty good!
Action photo. Teague was not happy that he couldn't skip rocks as well as everyone else. He got there though!
Started to rain a bit. Carter had to pull out the Butte High sweatshirt.
Kyle found some pretty cool petrified wood.
Me and my babies in the rain!
What a pretty view!
We stopped at all the hot pools and geysers (much to Teague's chagrin.) He got bored after a while, and hungry. He was also quite concerned that Yellowstone was a "super volcano."
He was still in a good mood here.
Yellowstone Lake is pretty huge. I like the different colors too.
Three goofy kids. We had a lot of fun together that day.
Kyle and Carterman getting lots of good info.
The fishing cone is very popular with the otters.
I loved all the little streams and rivulets running by the walkway. Some of them had the neatest colors.
The yellow, gold, and bronze was our favorite.
So pretty!
I tried to get the names of the pools in case Mom wanted to scrapbook.
This one was maybe my favorite. Such a pretty color and so clear.
Makes you wonder how far down it goes.
More info for Mom...and whomever else wishes to read it.
I don't know why my pictures are not in order, but here's Old Faithful! It's always awesome to see.
More cool geographic formations.
Old Faithful again. It had rained, so we stood on the bleachers and had a great view!
Ave looking for fish.
Avery and Kyle waiting for Old Faithful. She's kind of a little weirdo, but we love her.
Biscuit Basin was pretty cool. We saw a geyser splash onto the walkway. Luckily everyone was out of the way. It's definitely an unpredictable place.
Carter is kind of scared of heights. This was as close to the waterfalls as he would get! We got a pretty good picture out of it though!
The lodge is so pretty.
Old Faithful is just starting to rumble...
Time for some ice cream after Old Faithful.
Teague's pose is pretty great here.
This was right when we arrived at the lodge. Luckily the rain let up pretty quickly.
Another view of the waterfall. Yellowstone is just amazing.
This was on our way up to Grand Prismatic I think.
Kyle and Teague made sure they followed the rules and stayed in the middle of the walkway.
What a beautiful day. This was just before we left the Park and went into West Yellowstone.
Like I said, they are very much out of order. Here's sapphire pool though!
This was at Biscuit Basin when one the geysers went off.
I loved these little mini waterfalls going down into the river.
Excelsior Geyser was really neat. It's huge!
Info!
We didn't make it up the walk to look down at the Spring. The kids were exhausted, and we still had a long ways to go. The trip from West Yellowstone to Butte took a long time. We were stuck in the dark behind semis going about 40 miles an hour. Oh well, it was worth it! It was a great trip. Nice to spend time with family.
